Hi, I'm Keara! My blog is finally here and I thought it would be even better to launch it on the week of my birthday. I like to consider myself a free spirit Black girl who enjoys listening to music, meeting new people, and being in a social scene that brings people of color together. With everything being so different and rapidly changing, that can sometimes take a toll on how we care for ourselves and others; so consider this a safe space to read and get informed with things going on in the Black community and ways that I try to inspire other young Black queens like me to be their best selves.
Born and raised in Newark, NJ, I always admired how much the busy city had to offer. Everything from coffee shops to nightlife and entertainment can all be found right here in Newark, Essex County. Later moving to Bloomfield, I noticed a drastic change in my confidence because I did not feel beautiful. I had to get used to being around people who were not African American and I didn't like to talk about inner beauty because I was always the girl who had the brownest skin complexion. It wasn't until graduating college that I was proud to fully embrace my skin and inspire other Black girls to do the same.
Throughout the process of self discovery, I found that music became even more important to my daily life. I started to journal a lot and began to model to show people that the key to living life is to be free and to take pride in the things that motivate you. I am still learning more about myself and I plan on using this blog as a place to vent, educate others, and talk about real life situations (relationships, friendships, college/education, etc.) Be on the lookout for more posts!
